Meet Victoria Murray, LCSW, PMH-C
From self-doubt to self-trust.
Postpartum and ADHD therapy for women in Colorado, New York and New Jersey.
You’re used to being the one who has it all together.
The one everyone can count on, the one who keeps things moving, the one who looks like she has it figured out - even if underneath it all, it feels totally different.
You feel exhausted from giving so much time and energy to everyone around you, and barely having anything left for yourself.
Maybe you’ve always been this way… or maybe you’ve recently become a mom, and that’s changed something. Maybe being neurodivergent has left you feeling like you have to mask, work harder, and overcompensate.
Your ability to sense what everyone around you needs is a gift - but it’s also incredibly draining.
I help women heal from perfecting, people-pleasing and overthinking to finally focus on what you need.
Therapy with me is a place to step out of overdrive
If you’re used to moving quickly, juggling all the balls, or always thinking ahead, therapy might feel different than what you expect.
It’s a space where you don’t have to rush to find the answer.
Where you’re not being evaluated, judged or expected to say things the “right” way.
Where you can slow down enough to start noticing what’s going on in your body and mind, buried beneath the surface.
One of the first things you might feel is a sense of relief - relief at not having to keep everything together for a moment.
You don’t need to come in with a clear plan or perfectly organized agenda. I welcome you to show your full self here - even when it’s overwhelmed, messy and unsure.
We’ll start with what’s present in there here and now, and let that guide our work together.
How I Work
I communicate in a way that is both direct and supportive; patient yet curious.
I will gently challenge patterns that are keeping you stuck - like people-pleasing, perfectionism, or the belief that you have to do everything on your own - while also creating a space where you feel seen, safe and not judged.
My clients often tell me that I know how to ask the right questions to get to the root of what’s going on. But I also believe that you are the expert - I’ll go at your pace, on your terms, and I ask for feedback if it seems like something isn’t helping you.
Together, we’ll begin to:
Identify what’s leaving you feeling overwhelmed, resentful, or disconnected
Understand the patterns and beliefs that developed throughout your life
Let go of ways of coping that no longer serve you
Reconnect with your strengths, your needs, and your sense of self
As you begin to notice and shift the way you think, respond, and relate to yourself, something will start to change - not because you’re becoming a different person, but because you’re reconnecting with who was already there, underneath it all.
Where you’ve been in your life matters, because it will help you to understand how you got to where you are now. But our work will also focus on where you want to go - and how to help you get there in a way that feels realistic, sustainable and at your pace.
What Drives Me
I am one of you - I have also suffered with anxiety and self-criticism in my own life, often struggling to connect to what I wanted in the midst of all the louder noises around me. The healing that my own therapy journey has brought me has made me passionate about helping other thoughtful, sensitive and driven women to find the same.
Your sensitivity, awareness and deep capacity for care are strengths. But when paired with perfectionism and self-doubt, they can start to feel more like a burden. Part of our work is helping you hold onto the value in who you are, while letting go of the patterns that are leaving you depleted. I will help you embrace your strengths and live a life according to your own values - rather than one based in fear and “shoulds”. My approach is eclectic, but relies heavily on frameworks from psychodynamic therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), focusing on building self-regulation, assertiveness, mindfulness and self-compassion skills.
As a mom of two young children, I’m driven to help other moms make space for themselves in their own lives. I understand the ways in which motherhood can wreak havoc on your self-esteem and identity, especially if you’re someone who is used to giving everything in your life 110%. I’m also the eldest daughter of an immigrant, and my experiences growing up second generation American and in a multiracial household have made me passionate about helping others explore how different identities can intersect to shape our experience of the world.

Starting Therapy FAQs
-
Many of us have received messages throughout our lives that being “strong” or successful means never asking for help - often because there was no one available to ask. In reality, knowing when to ask for help is a true sign of strength. The pressure you put on yourself to “do it all” is likely a big part of what’s making you feel so depleted and burnt out. Considering getting professional help is a sign of bravery, and something to be proud of.

It’s ok if you don’t have it all figured out before you start - that’s what therapy is for. I will help you become more in touch with your emotions, and get to the bottom of what’s not working for you. You’ll learn how to recognize what your body is communicating, not just your brain.
